Hot Dogs
What started as a joke has turned into a bit of an obsession. The hot dog and fork stand as two representations of human achievement. The hot dog is a wonder. By encasing the scrap bits of an animal into its own intestines and then placing into a convenient hand held bun, we have made a portable meal and eliminated our need for wonderful tools such as the fork (for this meal in particular, anyways). As a bonus, the hot dog is inexpensive, but unfortunately it is not so good for the body. I like to think about this in relation to the GPS and smart phone, touchless faucet and genetically modified crop. These things are all simultaneously good and bad. Just like baseball. Occasionally in these drawings, the hot dog dog is just a stand in for the male reproductive organ. I think it all fits into the same theory. Headline: Wasted Potential?
